MEET BOB

I currently serve residents of Rankin County as Supervisor, District 3. Working with the Board of Supervisors, we have approved the construction of a new Misdemeanor Facility for the Sheriff’s Department and a new Chancery Court and Justice Court

building. Additional accomplishments include: Comprehensive Land Use Plan for the County

(zoning, etc); a new real estate development ordinance that protects our infrastructure and promotes quality developments; and a new ambulance provider for the County. Prior to serving as a Supervisor, I served as Brandon’s Alderman, Ward 6. Working with the Mayor and Board, we created and implemented an economic plan to establish financial stability for our City, while enhancing our public safety and recreational facilities. Having served both in municipal and county government, I am familiar with and uniquely qualified to tackle the challenges facing the citizens of House District 60. When elected, I can have an immediate impact on the many challenges that face our State.

I was born and raised in Rankin County and I have been married for 25 years to the former Sue Lane Brightman of Dallas, Texas.  We have two children, Molly and Nick. Molly, a graduate of Mississippi State, is currently employed in Atlanta, GA and Nick is a Junior at Ole

Miss.

I am actively involved in the Brandon First United Methodist Church serving in Sunday School and co-chairing the Missions committee. I have served as past Chairman of the Trustees Committee. Sue and I served as Co-Presidents of the Brandon Middle School PTO and other civic organizations in the community.  I am currently serving as District President for the Strong

River District of the Boy Scouts Andrew Jackson Council. Previously, I have served as Assistant Scoutmaster and Chairman of the Scouting Committee at the Church.  I

am currently a self-employed business owner holding two professional licenses, a State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser and a license as a Real Estate Broker.
